I sat down with just recently turned 18 years old, Carissa Moore to talk about her exciting life as a pro surfer. She's been having an amazing season as a surfer and as a teenager. In spite of all the fame she is staying very humble and she is still the same Carissa.
Up and Riding had a Grand Opening at Kahala Mall this month so I stopped by to check it out. Up and Riding is a surf shop specialize in kids, baby to 14 years old. They have everything! Shoes, trunks, shirts, shorts, dresses, bikinis, backpacks, hats, boards, etc all for KIDS!
I sat down with a 15 years old Cole Yamakawa to chat with him a little. He has been only surfing for few years yet surfing solid qualified to National Championships in both NSSA and Surfing America last season.
FITTED Hawaii released their limited edition "Surf Pack" recently. The "Surf Pack" consists of 3 hats designed by FITTED riders: Keanu Asing, Nelson Ahina, and Ezekiel Lau.
When we made a trip to California back in June/July some of the kids stayed with me. They were here to surf National Championships contests but we had some free time here and there.

Arnette had their All Day Antics event presented by T&C Surf at Kewalos. It was a beach entry and 80 spots were filled within 20 minutes! There were some nice shoulder high waves breaking mostly lefts with some occasional rights.

Rip Curl held their Annual Grom Search event at Kewalos. These regional contests are qualifying event for the Rip Curl National Final at the Rip Curl Pro Search Somewhere in Puerto Rico in the Fall. The winners of each division gets invited from Hawaii's event!

NSSA National Championships were held at Salt Creek and Huntington Beach, CA this summer. Many of Hawaii young surfers were their after qualifying from their 2009-2010 season.
People at Ransom sent me their waxes and leashes to review. At Novus Swell, I don't do the reviews, kids do! So I got some kids together to review the products for me. I had them surf using Ransom wax and leash for a few sessions and here's what they had to say. Enjoy the video!
Meet a cute and sweet surfer girl Tia Blanco! Since Tia is shy around me, Nicole Brueggemann sat down with Tia in front of the camera to chat with Tia for me. Tia's been surfing really well making finals in many events qualified to compete in Surfing America National Championship in California.
