  • Novus Swell S2W33: Carissa Moore

I sat down with just recently turned 18 years old, Carissa Moore to talk about her exciting life as a pro surfer. She's been having an amazing season as a surfer and as a teenager. In spite of all the fame she is staying very humble and she is still the same Carissa. She has accomplished so much already but i know she is going to accomplish so much more in the future.

    Enjoy the video!

After being hot and sweaty working on the camry, time to cool off at the beach! Kailee, Kelly and Cayla were ready to surf too! Small waves so Kailee and Kelly are longboarding today!
  • Fixing

The alarm on the camry was acting up so had to fix it really quick!
  • RedBull

RedBull event at Sandys! Gonna be a fun day!
  • Cancelled

RedBull event cancelled due to lack of waves.
  • Beach

    After school surf session.
  • Brake job

I hate working on drum brakes. Now what do I take out first...? Ha ha.
  • Thank you Carissa Moore - Crazy boat trying to run over a parasailing boat!
I have been getting lot of emails asking me to do a webisode on Carissa Moore. you asked for it, you get it!

Carissa is home now (she's traveling a lot these days so she's hardly ever home.) and she made some time for me to sit down and talk with me yesterday. so her webisode is coming to Novus Swell real soon!

Thank you Carissa for making time to sit down with me!

After talking with Carissa, i decided to film her surfing. the waves weren't the greatest but she was ripping out there.

i'm so glad i was filming because this happened...

a crazy boat came from no where going super fast by the lineup. That's Carissa on the left and our friend Davin Jaime on the right. I thought the crazy boat was gonna run them over!

The guy would turn around super fast doing figure eight flying towards the parasailing boat.

look at it, the crazy boat was getting super close to running over the parasailing boat with customers on board.

and he was doing that over and over!

when i was leaving the beach, i saw a couple of police cars by the parasailing office. i stopped to ask them if they were reporting about the crazy guy and told them i got the whole thing on video.

the guys at the parasailing place were stoked i got it on video. i guess the cops thought the story was over exaggerated but when they saw the footage, they were tripping out!

according the police, there were numerus reports on this crazy guy chasing down random boats trying to hit them that day.

i'm taking a copy of the video today so the coast guard can do their investigation.

so glad i was filming yesterday and captured the whole incident. hope my video will help identify and put the mad man to jail!

Please be safe out there everyone. i guess we got more than just sharks to worry about when we surf now.

New Webisode! 5th Annual Da Hui Beach Clean Up PDF Print E-mail

Just uploaded the new webisode, this one is about the 5th Annual Da Hui Beach Clean Up!  Da Hui put together this event every year and it is an amazing event.  This event cleans the whole North Shore beaches and not just one!  Great cause, food, games, prizes, etc.

I took Vanina Walsh and Mahina Maeda with me everywhere from Haleiwa to Sunset!  The original plan was to film everyone as we go but when we got to Haleiwa, no one was there yet so we ended up staying there for over 30 minutes cleaning.  So by the time we got to different locations, lot of the people were already gone...  but i know all the groms did great job picking up trash, making our playground nice and clean!  Enjoy the video!

New webisode is up! Surfer groms hardly ever get any weekends off because there are always contests or events going on.  This past weekend, there were supposed to be an HSA contest at Maili Point and Da Hui beach clean up at V-Land.  BUT they were both cancelled for lack of waves and stormy weather.

I hanged out with some groms all day so everyone can see how these kids are when they finally have a day off!  Enjoy!

New Webisode! NSSA Hawaii at Turtle Bay PDF Print E-mail

I just uploaded the new webisode.  I usually post webisodes on Vimeo but they are having some kind of problem with their site so it's on YouTube.  Speaking of YouTube, we have a channel there too with all the webisodes.  (www.YouTube.com/NovusSwell) check it out when you get a chance.

NSSA Hawaii had an event at Turtle Bay this past weekend.  The waves were about overhead but the condition was not that great, typical Turtle Bay.  Kids were ripping as always in this condition.  Here's the highlight video from the contest, enjoy!

I think everyone in the surfing world should know who he is, so here it is!  Enjoy!

I just uploaded our Halloween special webisode!  This Friday (10-30-09) was another furlough day for kids.  That means no school!!
The weather was perfect and waves were huge in North Shore but we knew exactly where to got for a fun session.  So I gathered some geoms and went for a Halloween Costume Surfing!

I guess it's hard to surf with costumes on...  after a while the kids were losing their costume left and right.  but we had a great time playing in the ocean!  Enjoy!

i just uploaded the new webisode!  This one is about the 33rd Annual Haleiwa Menehune Contest.  Everyone look forward to Haleiwa Menehune Contest every year.  Why?  Cuz this is the place where all the 12 and under surfers get to show off their skills, have fun in the sun, and win tons of great prizes from the event sponsors!

Since Mahina Maeda knows pretty much everyone at the contest, she helped me film and introduce many of the kids who were at the contest.  Enjoy!

The contest ends this coming weekend so come back to see the results next week!
